PHS-2 Servo Rotary/Swivel Head
The PHS-2 was specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of the automotive industry, particularly for body measurements. It offers precise angular positioning and a large reach, combined with the use of scanning probes.
The PHS-2 is a two-axis motorized probe head with continuously adjustable drive, allowing flexible positioning of probe configurations in almost any angle. The probe is brought close to the measuring point, and once a measurement point is captured, the axis positions of both the PHS-2 and the coordinate measuring machine are recorded and stored. The exact measurement position is calculated using the five-axis positions. Various probes can be used and automatically changed, including tactile touch-trigger probes, laser sensors, or non-contact sensors from other manufacturers.
Particularly long extensions enable measurements even in hard-to-reach areas. To protect against damage, the PHS-2 features an integrated electronic safety function that decouples the probe head in case of excessive torque and sends a signal to stop the machine immediately in the event of a collision.
ACR2 automatic changing system
The ACR2 system is an automatic changing mechanism for the PHS-2 servo rotary and swivel head system. It enables probe extensions or adapter arms to be exchanged quickly in order to optimally fulfill the respective measuring task. The arms are locked and unlocked by a targeted movement of the machine. The measuring head connects to a module holder, whereupon the machine raises the holder to release an arm or lowers it to lock it securely in place. As the magazine does not require any power or signal connections, installation is particularly straightforward. The ACR2 is supplied as a set of module holders that are mounted on a suitable bracket provided by the machine manufacturer. Thanks to the modular design, any number of module holder pairs can be flexibly positioned on the coordinate measuring machine.
